Academic Acknowledgments
When I pointed out a strange acknowledgments section previously, I hadn't been aware that apparently such strangeness is common, according to an article in Slate.
I know of quite a few kids under three who have made it into the acknowledgements. Not saying that I might have participated (PRL *cough*). Course I also thanked some referees and program committee members for useful career advice...

Hmm, I don't think I've ever put anything like that in...maybe I'm just not grateful enough :)
